Sharon Patterson, LEED AP BD+C and Homes, is the owner of Eco Edge and creator of the OM your home™ design philosophy. Eco Edge has been providing sustainability and green building consulting and education since 2006 based on achieving a ‘triple bottom line’. As a Certified SBA (Sustainable Building Advisor) and HHS (Healthy Homes Specialist), Sharon works with clients to create healthier, more sustainable built environments.
She is involved in training and course development for the 2009 IECC (International Energy Conservation Code), yet most of her experience is with above code green building rating systems such as LEED. Her LEED consulting experience has included over two dozen projects for H (Homes), ND (Neighborhood Development) and CI (Commercial Interior). As a Provider and Instructor with the Idaho and Wyoming Real Estate Commissions, Eco Edge has issued CE credits for The Green Housing Market course to over 200 real estate professionals. Eco Edge is also the Idaho Provider for the National Sustainable Building Advisor Program, a 9-month intensive training program in over 20 locations in North America.
Sharon’s education includes a Bachelor of Science in Ecological Design from the San Francisco Institute of Architecture and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Ohio University. She has been invited to present at numerous destinations including Maui Community College, Idaho Energy and Green Building Conference, Sun Valley Sustainability Conference, Idaho Environmental Summit, Idaho Green Expo and the Yellowstone Business Partnership Annual Conference.
Her work received Grow Smart Awards in 2008 and 2009 as well as Winner of the 2010 BetterBricks Award for Advocate. Her projects have been covered by the local radio and television stations, House to Home Magazine, The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Green Building and Remodeling, Professional Remodeler Magazine, Idaho Statesman, Idaho Press Tribune, Boise Weekly and www.bobvila.com. Her published work includes several columns in Real Life Magazine, a lifestyle publication based in the Caribbean. Colleagues in the community have elected her to leadership positions that include Chair of the USGBC (US Green Building Council) Idaho Chapter, Board Member for GreenWorks Idaho and Ambassador for the Living Building Challenge.

Sharon is also a managing member alongside Ken Baker and Suzie Hall in a company called GreenSteps. They develop and implement cutting edge strategic approaches to “greening” businesses, organizations and buildings.
