Sharon Patterson Grant, LEED AP BD+C and Homes, is the owner of Eco Edge, a managing member of Green Steps and creator of the OM your home™ design philosophy.  Sharon has been providing sustainability and green building consulting and education since 2006.  As a CSBA (Certified Sustainable Building Advisor) and HHS (Healthy Homes Specialist), Sharon works with clients to create healthier, more sustainable homes, buildings and neighborhoods.  

She is involved in training and development for energy codes, yet most of her experience is with above code programs such as LEED. Her LEED consulting has included over 95 buildings and neighborhoods. As Provider and Instructor with the ID and WY Real Estate Commissions, Eco Edge has issued CE credit to hundreds of real estate professionals. 

Sharon’s education includes a Bachelor of Science in Ecological Design from the San Francisco Institute of Architecture and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Ohio University.  She has been invited to present at numerous destinations including the DOE National Energy Code Conference, National Healthy Homes Conference, EEBA Annual Conference, Region 10 EPA Conference, National Environmental Health Association Annual Conference, Maui Community College, Idaho Energy and Green Building Conference, Sun Valley Sustainability Conference, Idaho Environmental Summit and Idaho Green Expo.  

Her work received Grow Smart Awards in 2008 (Heights Home), 2009 (Meadow Ranch) and 2011 (The Springs) as well as Winner of the 2010 BetterBricks Award for Advocate.  Her work on the Meadow Ranch project also contributed towards a 2012 NAHB award for Best Green Community for 50+ and 2012 Golden Nugget Awards.  She was the founding host of a weekly radio show "Building a Greener Idaho" on Radio Boise 89.9 FM.  Her projects have been covered by the local radio and television stations, House to Home Magazine, The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Green Building and Remodeling, Professional Remodeler Magazine, Idaho Statesman, Idaho Press Tribune, Boise Weekly and www.bobvila.com.  Her published work includes several columns in Real Life Magazine, a lifestyle publication based in the Caribbean.  Colleagues in the community have elected her to leadership positions that include Chair of the USGBC Idaho Chapter, and Board Member for GreenWorks Idaho, Idaho Smart Growth and Northwest Integrity Housing Company.

 Sharon also works Ken Baker and Suzie Hall in GreenSteps.  They develop and implement cutting edge strategic approaches to “greening” businesses and commercial buildings. Ken, Suzie and Sharon define this as enabling people to identify opportunities for greater return on investment based on developing long-term energy efficiency and sustainability goals unique to each organization.  The team has a proven track record of successful projects that result in reduced operating expenses, greater productivity, healthier indoor environments and a competitive advantage in the commercial real estate industry.  Find our more at www.greensteps.us.
