LEED Consulting
LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is an internationally recognized green building certification system, providing third-party verification that a building or community was designed and built using strategies aimed at improving performance across all the metrics that matter most: energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions reduction, improved indoor environmental quality and stewardship of resources and sensitivity to their impacts.  Eco Edge specializes in providing support services for project teams pursuing LEED certification.  Whether a commercial, residential or neighborhood project, we can provide training on the LEED process, design charrette facilitation and management of documentation.

Design Charrette Facilitation
If you are considering a new building or renovation, an important first step is a design charrette.  This is a visulation and planning exercise to facilitate an integrated design approach among the project team.  These are typically half-day, full-day or even 2-day sessions that result in a set of goals, objectives and initial design criteria.

LEED for Homes Rating System
If you are planning a major renovation or are looking to build a new home, you may want to consider certifying your project under LEED® for Homes.  LEED for Homes is a rating system that promotes the design and construction of high-performance green homes.  A green home uses less energy, water and natural resources, creates less waste, and is healthier and more comfortable for occupants.  Eco Edge provides extensive support services for builders and developers to navigate the LEED for Homes process.  We specialize in guiding a project team through a preliminary rating, providing manuals for builders and homeowners, training subs and offering credit interpretation and guidance.

Professional Training & Workshops
With our extensive experience in the building industry combined with our expertise working on dozens of green building projects, we can provide your team with training on incorporating green techniques and materials into your projects.  The NAHB estimates that 40-50% of the homes built in 2010 are expected to be green.  Understanding this new market will give you a competitive edge.  Our workshops range from 1 hour to 8 hours, and we customize the training to fit the needs of your particular project.

Learn how to green your business.  We will analyze your operation and help you come up with solutions to reduce your company’s carbon footprint and environmental impact.  Adopting greener practices can save on operational costs, decrease absenteeism, improve employee productivity, satisfaction and loyalty as well as increase sales.  Greening your office or building also results in higher building and lease values.  We start by developing a sustainability policy and plan that fits your particular organization.  Then, we can offer a range of options from conducting occupancy surveys to organizing green teams and benchmarking of results.
